New Patients

They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

The ability to understand a young patient's emotional needs and project warmth is just as important as a great mind or skilled hands. It's often a pediatric dentist that guides kids through some of their first potentially scary medical encounters. We understand our responsibility to help children form a positive view about going to the doctor and we're careful with our approach so patients grow up feeling confident and comfortable in any healthcare setting.

What to Expect

Your first visit to Chompers Pediatric & Teen Dentistry involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. A parent or legal guardian will need to be present at the appointment in order for us to review important background information like the patient's medical history.

Our goals for the initial visit are to address any specific questions or concerns you have, give some helpful tips on maintaining excellent oral health, and to provide the patient with a fun and interactive experience.

This first visit usually includes a comprehensive exam, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and any necessary dental imaging. We invite you to stay with your child and encourage your participation - it's up to you to decide when you think he or she is ready to experience the dental appointment without you.

We also encourage you to tell your child about their "First Dental Visit" and recommend reading books that will help explain what he or she should expect. ( Here are a few great ones!)

Tell them it will be fun and please refrain from using words like "shot", "needle", "drill", or "pull". Our team is highly trained to use words that convey the same meanings in a less intimidating way. Thank you for helping us make sure your child's dental visit is a positive one!
